Tech veteran Ronen Benchetrit couldn’t have joined Bumble at a more opportune time. As the company’s first ever Chief Technology Officer (CTO), he’ll forge a brand new technological path as dating and networking apps Bumble and Badoo join forces under the auspices of one parent company, Bumble.

Benchetrit will benefit from close to three decades of software engineering and leadership experience to build both apps, which represent a combined community of millions across six continents.

Based in the UK, Benchetrit joins Bumble from Zopa, a challenger bank and pioneering peer-to-peer lender, where he served as CTO. Before joining Zopa in 2016, he was the CTO for leading online gaming operator PokerStars, where he led the tech function from the private company stage through an initial public offering.

As Benchetrit settles into his new role, he’s looking to augment the engineering teams at both Bumble and Badoo apps, growing their respective products, features, and services. He will focus on leveraging emerging technologies and lead the company’s engineering division to realise its vision in years to come.

Bumble Tech is hiring in a few engineering domains at present, from iOS and Android mobile development to Java/Kotlin/PHP server side development. The job openings are listed on Bumble’s careers site. Be sure to check back as Benchetrit’s team continues to grow.
