The Great Catch! Putting An End To Catfishing With Top Chef star Sam Talbot
Here at Bumble, we’re constantly working to make the way our users connect safer. Enter Photo Verification—a feature that will help us put a much-needed end to fake profiles. To help users get verified, we are in New York City today through Sunday to serve up catfish, Bumble style. Guests will be served delicious and complimentary catfish themed dishes created by Top Chef star Sam Talbot and will be offered the chance to take a new Bumble profile pic and get verified as they wait for their food.
“Catfishing has been a serious issue for many people looking to meet others online and we at Bumble make user safety our #1 priority,” said Alexandra Williamson el-Effendi, Head of Brand for Bumble. “Photo Verification is our answer to keeping our users protected from catfishing and partnering with Sam gives us a very fun and interactive way of both generating awareness and giving New Yorkers access to some buzzed about food!””
Sam Talbot is a Top Chef alumni and after staring Pig + Poet in Maine moved back to Brooklyn to open up his newest spot, Pretty Southern, this year. Talbot’s new southern-inspired restaurant offers healthier alternatives to traditional dishes. He and his crew will be serving up signature plates including a fried catfish slider with crispy pickles and blackened catfish tacos with charred tomato vinaigrette.
